Our Company Story

IDE Vision was founded in 2021 by Ian Bussey, David Smith and Esben Sorensen to acquire the assets associated with the MPS II from Elektron Eye Technology. Each of the principals has worked in the eye care industry for 10+ years for contact lens and ophthalmic equipment companies.

Initially the MPS II was manufactured under contract by a UK based business, but the limitations of outsourcing became apparent quickly. In part, to take control of the manufacturing supply chain the founders acquired Ultrasound Technologies Ltd in 2022, a long established and highly regarded supplier of Doppler ultrasound equipment that also had the capability to manufacture the MPS II.

Ultrasound Technologies, founded by Nick See in 1992, employs a team of experienced and talented technicians who design, manufacture and service electronic medical equipment.

Today, bringing the companies together under the banner of Fairbridge Medical, the businesses design and develop their own products, exporting to more than 35 countries. By far the fastest growing part of the Fairbridge Medical business is the design and manufacturing of other companies’ products. Pentax Medical, Bayer, Rocket Medical and many others have benefited from the skill and expertise offered across a broad array of medical specialities.
